Outline.co / vs Google Keep
Outline.co and Google Keep
Both are for the thought that arrives first: a line, a label, a checklist, a reminder. Outline.co adds boards for the work, beside the notes.
Where Outline.co is different
- Boards for the work. Kanban boards beside your notes, with cards moved from To do to Done.
- A timeline. Cards with dates draw a timeline (Gantt) view of the board.
- Status, priority, steps and comments on every note, and comments ticked off when they are dealt with.
- Sharing by role. Invite people to a board as an editor or a reviewer, by email; they do not need an account first.
- No Google account. Sign in with an email link.
- Open to AI assistants through a Model Context Protocol endpoint.
When Google Keep is the better choice
- You live in Google’s apps and want your notes inside them.
- You want quick voice notes, drawings, or location-based reminders on an Android phone.
- You only ever need notes, never a board.
